How Long Does the Express Entry Process Take?
An Express Entry profile remains valid for one year. However, receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the candidate’s CRS score and the frequency of draws.
If a candidate doesn’t receive an ITA within the year, they can resubmit a new profile — provided they continue to meet eligibility criteria. It’s important to note that the new submission will have a different timestamp and might be subject to IRCC’s tie-breaking rule in future draws.
Once an applicant receives an ITA, they have 60 days to submit a complete application for Canadian permanent residence (PR). The Canadian government aims to process PR applications within six months from the date of receiving the full application.
